This story is Claude's and he wants you to comprehend why he always recommend to take Reiki 1 and 2 levels jointly and Reiki 3 Advanced and the Master levels as one, with a 2 to 4 weeks apart. Then, when it is time to take Karuna, take all 4 levels in a two day course. For Lightarian Reiki you must take all 6 levels in 4 parts, level 1 & 2 then 3, then 4, then 5 & 6.

I would like to share my experience during my first encounter with Reiki. In the beginning I wasn't sure what to expect about Reiki. So the first thing we did was to try Iridology to see what that was all about. It was also situated in the same building. Now that I look back, it was like when you want to see somebody but you need another person to check it out first. After the Iridology session, we asked that person for some information about Reiki. She told us many things about it. My interest was strong so I made an rendezvous to try it. The first time that I went through the session it was an astonishing experience. Reiki should be experienced as no words can sufficiently honour or illustrate it. I had two sessions before I decided to take the first level of Reiki. Three weeks later I decided to take the second Reiki level. Now my teacher persisted on waiting 3 months before I took the third Reiki level. So I followed her guidance. Three months later I punctually returned and took Reiki level three. To increase my kowledge, within three months after receiving the second level Reiki attunement, I had offered over 300 free sessions. Some of my clients received many beautiful healings, while others received partial as they were not yet ready for the full healing.

Now I asked my teacher if I could take the Master Reiki Level and she told me that I had to wait one year. I asked her what was the requirement to waiting one year and she indicated it was the practice. I then asked how many clients I should do and what type of file I was to uphold so I could prepare for this Master Level. She said nothing else was required, only 1) the fact that I had to wait one year and 2) that I completed the third level of Reiki. One person may do one client in that year, while another may see 200 clients or more and there would be no difference between them. She said that this is correct, that the amount of clients that any Reiki practitioner would see, made no distinction at all. I did not share this belief, as in I believe that each individual is on their own trail and should be able to take courses when they feel ready, not dictated by the number of days in a calendar year.

So I decided to speak to William Lee Rand , who is the founder of the International Center for Reiki Training and ask him for some guidance. After corresponding through email, Mr Rand told me that he has someone in Maui that would be able to assist me. Since my wife and I were soon going to Maui to renew our 5 year wedding anniversary vows, it was ideal timing. So after three months of waiting and performing more sessions, I received the Reiki Master Attunement on a beach, sitting on a volcano rock in Maui. Then about 6 months later, I started the Karuna Reiki levels in Guelph Ontario. In May of 2005 I completed the Lightarian Reiki levels. My thirst for knowledge about this amazing energy was endless. There are 6 Lightarian Reiki levels and all are taken 3-4 weeks apart to allow the body, mind and spirit to adjust to the new higher frequency. By August 2005, I was an Usui, Karuna and Lightarian Reiki Master/Teacher.

Throughout all my time with Reiki, I would say that it is the most gorgeous and the most awesome field of energy that I am using. Even today after so many years of learning other modalities, this is by far the one that I most enjoy using. Reiki can be added to pretty much any other modality you can imagine, to increase the effect.

Reiki can be used for human healing as well as for plants and animals. When people are unwell, they see their doctor and he/she prescribes a drug to use. Reiki can improve the performance of the medication by ensuring that the body uses only what it is needed and Reiki can guide the body by discarding the rest. Reiki can also harmonize many types of healing energy, such as massage. While a massage therapist performs her session, she can trigger the Reiki energy so the client receives Reiki energy and a massage at the same time for a remarkably, relaxing healing session.
